Miss Universe 2023 Contestants Model Mouawad Jewelry at Pageant Showcase: A Closer Look

Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel presented the new Miss Universe, Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios, with a crown created by Mouawad on Nov. 18 in San Salvador, El Salvador.

The brand, which has been the official jeweler for the Miss Universe Organization since 2019, said the Mouawad Miss Universe Force for Good crown features cascading diamonds that represent “waves of change to the deepening blues of sapphire toward the pinnacle.” The design includes pear-shaped 45.14 carat sapphire that is “emblematic of the goodness that can be achieved through persistent action and of the hope for a brighter future.” The base is set with diamonds that “symbolize the status quo.”

The crown features 108.44 carat of blue sapphire and 48.12 carat of white diamond. The luxury label said it is valued at approximately $5.75 million and carries a message of women’s power to make a positive impact on the world.

Ahead of the finale, the delegates participated in Mouawad’s jewelry showcase and modeled pieces.
