Cult-favorite companies Cosrx and Alfred Coffeehouse are joining forces this July to launch a “cooling” collaboration amid the slow burn of summer weekdays. The skin care brand, which gained significant recognition on TikTok in 2022 for its snail mucin product line, and the Los Angeles-based café franchise plan to bring customers in-person activations for the next four weeks, as well as limited-edition coffee sleeves, until supplies last.
This collaboration centers around two of Cosrx’s viral products: the Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and the Advanced Snail 92 All-in-One Cream. A simple search for “snail mucin” on Google will position Cosrx’s offerings at the top of the page. Last year, model Josephine Skriver sung its praises in an interview with WWD, admitting the Cosrx essence, specifically, was one of her top products purchased on Amazon. But while the brand may be responsible for popularizing the ingredient in the 21st century, snail mucin was introduced to the beauty world decades before.

Snail mucin, the thick and slimy secretion produced by the invertebrates, emerged in skin care back in the late ’80s and ’90s as treatments for warts, acnes and even calluses on the body. The solution has since been celebrated for its ability to lock in moisture and reduce the visibility of fine lines. Snail mucin is also anti-inflammatory.
Customers will be able to shop specialized coffee as part of this partnership. Los Angeles residents or tourists visiting during July will be able to stop by specific Alfred locations across the city to experience what the brand is dubbing “Slow Wednesdays.” Beginning at 8 a.m., Alfred will reward its first 200 patrons with full-sized bottles of Cosrx’s snail mucin essence and cream with any purchase. The participating Alfreds include Melrose Place, Marina del Rey, Ventura Place, Brentwood, Westwood and Coldwater.
This collaboration comes just a week after another TikTok-viral brand partnered with a major company in the beverage business for an icy summer drop. Press-on nail and polish brand Chillhouse teamed up with Keurig to launch limited-edition nails inspired by the bold taste of ice-cold coffee. The unique design was a modern take on the classic French tips with baby blue tips and chrome on top rather than opaque white and nude.
