Brooklyn-based jewelry brand Catbird is launching a seven-piece collection on Wednesday, in collaboration with the Amazon Prime Video series “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” The partnership represents Catbird’s continued push to connect classic jewelry with a younger, culturally engaged audience.
“At Catbird, our most successful collaborations stem from deep storytelling. That goes beyond just the popularity of the source material — it’s the thought behind every design choice. We ensure that each piece feels authentic to the partner and the world we’re celebrating, while still being something our customers can connect to their own personal story and see themselves wearing for years to come,” Leigh Batnick Plessner, Catbird’s chief creative officer, told WWD.

The collection, inspired by the third season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” draws on themes of first love, self-discovery and coastal nostalgia. Each piece reflects the emotional journey of the show’s protagonist, Belly (Lola Tung), through design elements such as infinity rope motifs and delicate seashell accents, which evoke the pull of summer romance and the series’ seaside setting.
“Belly’s style shifts alongside her personal evolution over the course of the trilogy. We loved the design challenge of creating pieces that speak to how she’s grown and become more reflective and independent — hearts are messy!” Plessner said.
Catbird worked closely with screenwriter Jenny Han and fashion designer Carol Lim to develop the collection. Plessner also hinted at “a special moment or two” featuring Catbird in the show’s third season.
The Catbird x “The Summer I Turned Pretty” jewelry collection will be available Wednesday at catbirdnyc.com and in Catbird stores, with prices starting at $44. The third season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” will debut on Amazon Prime on July 16.
