Fashion experts at Boohoo curated a list of Halloween costume ideas inspired by this year’s biggest pop-culture moments, from Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” hit movie to the upcoming Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla.”
Released on Wednesday, Boohoo‘s list also includes costumes inspired by Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” and the horror movie “M3gan ,” which was released in January.

“Barbie “
The iconic plastic doll experienced a resurgence of popularity this past summer, with the release of the “Barbie” film starring Margot Robbie. According to Boohoo, the search term “Barbie costume” receives an average of 18,000 monthly Google searches worldwide, and it is predicted to be one of the most popular Halloween costumes this year. Barbiecore Halloween costumes can include Robbie’s popular western outfit and her other pink-themed ensembles from the popular Greta Gerwig-directed film.
Princess Ariel From “The Little Mermaid ”
While dressing as a Disney princess is nothing new for Halloween, Disney’s recent film “The Little Mermaid” starring Halle Bailey has made quite a splash in the pop-culture zeitgeist. Boohoo the retailer reports that the term “Ariel costume” receives an average of 8,000 monthly searches on Google. To channel the signature mermaid, Ariel costumes can include a seashell bra, a scale-like maxi skirt and, of course, fiery-red hair.
Queen Charlotte From “Bridgerton”
The fictional queen of the regency-period themed show rose to sudden popularity with the “Bridgerton” spinoff “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.” To channel the regal character, this year’s Halloween costumes might feature glamorous ball gowns, over-the-top hairstyles and dazzling jewelry.
“M3gan ”
For those who want to opt in for a scary costume, “M3gan” is an option. The horror flick, which saw a January premiere in theaters, centers around a murderous girl-like robot. “M3gan” costume inspiration includes the scary doll’s signature look: white tights, a tan dress and a striped pussybow scarf around the neck.

“Ted Lasso “
Inspired by Jason Sudeikis’ character on the AppleTV+ series, dressing up as Ted Lasso is fairly simple since the soccer coach aligns with an ultra-casual aesthetic. Ted Lasso’s capsule wardrobe often includes baggy tracksuits, white trainers and sunglasses.
Ken and Alan
Along with the “Barbie” popularity, lots of people are planning on dressing up like the doll’s famous sidekick, Ken along with her friend Alan. Ken Halloween costumes may feature Ryan Gosling’s looks from the film, including the viral “I Am Kenough” hoodie to his edgy mojo dojo casa house outfit. Alan costumes can include shorts and a striped shirt.
Indiana Jones
The latest film “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” has caused a surge of interest in dressing up like the character. Classic Indiana Jones costumes include a button-down shirt, a tassel bag and a wide-brim hat.
Billy the Puppet From “Saw”
With the recent release of “Saw X,” the villainess tricycle-riding character is expected to make a Halloween costume comeback. To channel the horror puppet, pair a suit with a red bow tie and jarring face makeup.
