For more than 50 years, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” celebrated the start of a new year from Times Square in New York City. Hosted by the eponymous TV personality and radio host, Clark rang in each new year with a bevy of A-list guests, musical performers and more to commemorate the holiday.
Beginning in 1972, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” has been the site where cultural moments and major fashion trends stepped into the spotlight. The ‘70s and ‘80s debuted big hairstyles, bright colors and a bevy of sparkle.
In the 2000s, Y2K trends were all the rage, as seen on such “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” guests as Hilary Duff, Fergie and more.
