Carrie Underwood will be the headline performance for the 2025 “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest” on Dec. 31. The “American Idol” winner and country music superstar will perform just before the iconic ball, made of 2,688 Waterford Crystal triangles, drops in New York City’s Times Square to mark the new year.
Ryan Seacrest returns for his 20th stint as host for the evening’s celebrations, which feature even more star power beyond Underwood. Along with the “Cowboy Casanova” singer, country singer Megan Moroney will perform some of her best-known hits, while British pop star and “Murder on the Dancefloor” hitmaker Sophie Ellis-Bextor will take the stage.
“I have such fun memories of performing on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in Times Square in both 2007 and 2015, and I’m so excited to perform just before the ball drops again this year,” Underwood said in a statement.
