Taraji P. Henson elevated sculptural styling in a look by Gaurav Gupta for the designer’s spring 2026 couture collection show during Paris Couture Week on Tuesday.
Seated in the front row, Henson wore a gown from the Indian couturier’s 2025 bridal couture collection. The gown was crafted with a black, high-waisted skirt with a formfitting silhouette and a bodice with semi-sheer paneling contrasted by a shimmering jewel-encrusted bodice in multicolored and gold gems.
Wrapped around from the bodice and over Henson’s head was a sculptural detail that created a hood effect that framed the Oscar-nominated star’s face and shoulders. Henson’s jewelry included an emerald ring and delicate earrings to further accessorize the dramatic look.

Gupta’s 2025 bridal couture collection made its debut in August 2025, held at the Jio World Convention Centre in India. Luxury and drama were key qualities of the presentation, with Gupta heightening bridal style with lavish designs.
“The collection, titled ‘Quantum Engagement,’ featured more than 80 looks, including a 10-piece bridal segment marking Gupta’s formal entry into Indian bridalwear for the first time,” Ritu Upadhyay wrote for WWD.
“Rich vermillion red lehengas, the equivalent of a three-piece ballgown, shimmered with more than 60,000 bugle beads and embedded Preciosa crystals, while pastel creations featured 3D embroidery and ombré beadwork. The collection used handwoven silk brocades from Varanasi, paired with French Chantilly lace reimagined into his signature sculptural forms.”
Gupta made a point to focus on Indian heritage with his 2025 bridal couture collection, saying, “Parisian couture is about perfection, presenting fantasy for exclusive clientele. Indian couture is about emotion, dressing real women for their most important moments. In Paris, we create dreams. In India, we create memories.”
