Sarah Jessica Parker attended Fendi‘s 100th anniversary show during Milan Fashion Week on Wednesday, where she shared her “gratitude” to the label’s artistic director of accessories and menswear, Silvia Venturini Fendi.
“I think she’s a remarkable and enormously special woman, so I’m particularly flattered to be in her environs, and I value and cherish my long relationship with Fendi,” Parker told WWD.
The actress modeled an olive green wool coat, layering it over a matching ribbed knit dress. One of the label’s iconic Baguette handbags — covered in bronze and crystal embellishments — topped off her look.
Silvia is credited with designing the 1990s “It” bag, which was popularized thanks to “Sex and the City.” Parker added that the Italian label was one of the few brands that agreed to be placed on the HBO sitcom.

“[Fendi was] the gateway very early on our show when no one else wanted to loan us anything, so I think I have a longtime gratitude,” Parker said.
In a season three episode of the series, Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw is mugged for her Fendi purse. “This isn’t a bag, it’s a Baguette,” she implores.
Released in 1997, Silvia was inspired by how Parisian women carried baguette breads under their arms.
The Fendi Baguette became one of Carrie Bradshaw’s signature accessories, and to date, more than 1 million have been sold. Searches for the bag skyrocketed in 2023 following the release of “And Just Like That,” the reboot of “Sex and the City.”
In 2019, Fendi relaunched the Baguette with help from Parker, who appeared in a commercial promoting the purse.
“The Baguette never really went away and in time it has become a classic,” Venturini Fendi told WWD in an interview at the time.
“All that history is very attractive to them, and this style has expressed a series of concepts, it epitomizes the manifesto of individuality,” she said.
