Rihanna made a surprise appearance at the 2024 Footwear News Achievement Awards on Wednesday night in New York. The pop star and entrepreneur attended in support of her partner, A$AP Rocky, who received the award for Best Collaboration for his work with Puma.
“It feels incredible, I’m so proud,” Rihanna told WWD. “He’s been influencing the fashion world culturally for a very long time, and to see him being honored for it, it’s something that I can’t even put into words how proud I am. He deserves it, and it’s about time.”

In his acceptance speech, Rocky honored his partner of four years, with whom he shares two children: RZA and Riot Rose, born in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
“This is just like one of the best accomplishments ever,” the rapper said. “I saw my lady receive this thing almost a decade ago. She inspires me a lot.”
Rocky’s collection with Puma encompasses clothing and sneakers. His debut collection for the athletic brand was heavily inspired by motorsports and more specifically, Formula 1 racing.
“The thought of me being with Puma and making Collaboration of the Year, I mean, I didn’t even think that was really that possible, and look at us now.”
