New York Fashion Week officially began on Friday, and celebrities are taking over the front rows. So far this season, the annual start of fashion month has brought a handful of pop stars that rose to fame in the early 2000s, helping brands celebrate their spring 2024 collection debuts.
WWD looks at some of the Y2K pop stars who have appeared at New York Fashion Week.
Avril Lavigne
Avril Lavigne has been making the rounds at New York Fashion Week from parties to front rows. Lavigne started off NYFW attending a party for Nylon where she wore a gray, black and white puppet print shirt dress from Vivienne Westwood. She paired the dress with a black purse with grommet and metal ring details. She had her hair tied up in buns similar to a Japanese odongo style.

Lavigne then joined the celebrities attending Christian Siriano’s runway show on Friday, she wore an all-black latex ensemble with a lace top underneath. She complemented the look with a Gothic makeup style, featuring a cat-eye eye shadow and eyeliner style.
For Le Robo Una Rosa, hosted by actress Julia Fox and fashion designer Luis de Javier, Lavigne wore a look from Luis de Javier, including leather pants with grommets, a gray corset top and a feather coat. The look channeled fallen angel energy and was on brand with Lavigne’s Gothic looks.
Kesha
Although Christian Siriano is known for his red carpet gowns, Kesha kept it minimalist and opted for a power-dressing ensemble from the designer to attend his spring 2024 runway show. The singer wore a black blazer with a corset bodice, tailored black pants with statement buttons and pointy-toe black shoes.
Hayley Williams
Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams donned a color-blocked dress from Alice + Olivia to attend the brand’s spring 2024 presentation. Williams completed her look with black below-the-knee gogo boots and a black crossbody bag.
Williams attended Eckhaus Latta’s show in a sheer black dress from the brand. She completed the look with black platform heels and a black purse.
At 3.1 Phillip Lim’s show, Williams showed off her love of color in a bright green suit from the brand. Underneath the suit, she wore a vertical striped tunic shirt and completed the look with black shoes.
