This Is About Humanity 5th Anniversary Soiree was held in Los Angeles on Saturday, raising over $1 million dollars for the TIAH collective food-relief kitchen with Fundación Tijuana Sin Hambre and ICF, which serves hot meals to vulnerable communities at the Tijuana/U.S. border region, the Immigrant Defenders Law Center’s efforts to provide pro bono legal representation to this vulnerable population, and the This is About Humanity Binational Fund for ICF.
Lauren Sánchez, fiancee of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, was recognized for her outstanding generosity — In 2022, Sánchez made a donation of $1 million dollars to help the TIAH food-relief kitchen, which currently serves 3,100 meals to 19 shelters daily. Her contributions also funded the Ludotecas/Learning Libraries initiative spearheaded by TIAH, sponsored mental health services to almost 10,000 children and teens at the U.S.-Mexico border, and provided infrastructure upgrades to shelters.
Other guests at the event included Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Eva Longoria, Zooey Deschanel, Rachel Zoe, Henry Winkler, Ava Max, D’Arcy Carden, Leslie Grossman, Xochitl Gomez and more.
