NBC’s 2024 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting: Kelly Clarkson in Alaïa, Jennifer Hudson Shining with Sequins and More Winter Looks [PHOTOS]

The 2024 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony took place on Wednesday in New York, with celebrities including Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Raye, Coco Jones and more showing off their winter-ready looks.

Clarkson, who hosted the event for the second year in a row, wore a winter coat by Alaïa featuring a suede-like texture created by a chenille yarn and fine wool and a knitted fur shawl collar. Micaela Erlanger styled the singer.

One of the night’s performers, Hudson took the stage in a sequined silver dress, which she coordinated with a gray overcoat covered in sequins for an extra sparkle.

Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Al Roker and Craig Melvin from the “Today” show helped Clarkson with her hosting duties. The event includes performances by the Backstreet Boys, Dan + Shay, Megan Hilty, Little Big Town and Thalia, who wore two eye-catching outfits inspired by the holiday season.

The first official tree lighting ceremony took place in 1933, but it was not televised then. Since 1997, NBC has been broadcasting the ceremony live as part of its “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” telecast.
