Essence held its 18th annual Black Women in Hollywood Awards on Thursday in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by Aldis Hodge and honored Cynthia Erivo, Teyana Taylor, Marla Gibbs, Raamla Mohamed and more.
“This year’s theme, ‘Scene and Unseen,’ is about spotlighting the stories, performances, and contributions that often go overlooked, even as they shape the fabric of the entertainment industry,” Essence said in a statement.
In addition to celebrating these remarkable women, the event also supported relief efforts for areas affected by recent Los Angeles wildfires, including Altadena and Pasadena.
