HOME TAKEOVER: Having teased a limited-edition display cabinet with a Labubu sitting inside at Complexcon Hong Kong last month, the Switzerland-based modular furniture-maker USM on Tuesday unveiled two made-to-order cabinets adorned with Kasing Lung’s illustrations of Labubu and her friends from the Monsters series at Salone del Mobile.Milano.
Exclusive to Lane Crawford, the collaboration between USM, Lung and the Hong Kong-based art toy brand How2work centers around Labubu Bob. As its name suggests, the beloved character that reached global fame last year now comes with a fresh haircut.
Labubu Bob forms part of a furniture-collectable hybrid “Beautiful Thing!” Each of the sets will come with a signed artist certificate and an NFC-authenticated collector’s code. It will be sold via a public raffle from Thursday, with winners revealed on May 4.

The modular cabinets, meanwhile, offer global shipment and can be ordered in-store at Lane Crawford or online via a dedicated mini site. The 2×2 edition retails for $4,680, and the 3×1 version is priced at $4,004. Additional shipping fees apply.
Adding an interactive and mass-facing element to the launch, Lane Crawford’s Pacific Place store in Hong Kong will host The Monsters’ Tea Room from Thursday to Monday.
Billed as an immersive pop-up evoking Lung’s childhood in the Netherlands, where he drew while his parents ran a Chinese restaurant, the space blends design, dining and nostalgia, serving Hong Kong comfort classics such as milk tea and pineapple buns by Kam Wah Cafe.
