Thom Browne’s sneaker collaboration with Asics is finally here.

First unveiled in February during Super Bowl weekend, the new collaboration features Browne’s take on Asics Sportstyle’s Gel-Kayano 14 sneaker in three colorways. The move marks the first time the designer has released an athletic sneaker and a first-of-its-kind collaboration for the brand.

According to the New York-based fashion company, the shoe draws on Browne’s lifelong love of sports and his mastery of tailored sportswear. This can be seen via a lace catcher that’s colored with red, white and blue grosgrain for the white and black versions, and tonal grosgrain on gray, a nod to medals Browne won as a varsity swimmer and long-distance runner. Two sets of laces, one metal-tipped with red, white and blue finishing, one two-toned to recall the sneaker’s sports heritage, build upon Browne’s signature bespoke touches.

As for the sneaker’s upper design, it features real suede on gray and black colorways and smooth leather on white, a more sophisticated contrast to the Gel-Kayano 14 model’s performance-driven origins.

Other signature details nod to heritage tailoring through piping accents referencing Thom Browne’s precise tipping; a cross-stitch finishing emerges across the iconic Asics stripes. Inside, an updated insole features dual Thom Browne and Asics branding alongside Browne’s university stripe — red, white and blue striping for white and black colorways, and gray and white striping for the gray version.

Browne told WWD that he has “long admired” Asics’ approach to design and collaboration.

“Through personal use of the product growing up to working closely together on the Thom Browne for Asics Gel-Kayano 14, the result showcases the mutual respect our brands have for one another,” Browne said. “Showcasing Asics iconic silhouette with my signature tailoring codes — a technical sneaker that looks just as good in the office as it does on the field.”

For Colin Brickley, director of sales at Asics Sportstyle, working with Thom Browne has been an “exceptional collaboration” rooted in a shared commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless design.

“Thom brings a uniquely refined lens to performance footwear, and together we’ve been able to merge Asics’ technical heritage with his distinctive tailoring and precision,” Brickley told WWD. “The result is a collection that feels both elevated and authentic — where performance innovation meets modern luxury in a way that only this partnership can deliver.”

To mark the launch of the new collaboration, Browne tapped photographers Alma + Manon for a campaign shot in Paris. The series stars South Korean American actress May Hong of “KPop Demon Hunters” and British actor Guy Remmers of “The Buccaneers” and transforms them into Browne’s parallel universe.

Set in a labyrinthine office space, with never-ending corridors and repeated doors, the two main characters wear the signature Thom Browne uniform as they agilely navigate their settings in the Asics sneaker collaboration. The company noted that Hong and Remmers explore “against the backdrop of an infinite vanishing point that distorts reality, surrounded by the physical foundations of office life, cabinets, files, the wall clock.”

The Thom Browne for Asics Gel-Kayano 14, which retails for $450, is now available in the gray and black editions at Thom Browne retail locations, ThomBrowne.com and select retailers globally. Launch details for the white colorway are to come, the company noted.
