It’s hard to call Nike’s triple-stacked Pegasus Premium running sneaker anything but a hit. A modern performance runner with plenty of lifestyle appeal, the model has performed well at retail in nearly every style that’s been released thus far. If you’re lucky enough to find certain colorways that are actually in stock, chances are many sizes have already been depleted, making it one of the more elusive performance shoes in recent memory. Adding to the hard-to-find looks is a new women’s special-edition colorway which riffs on one of Nike’s most iconic prints.
A new Cave Purple/Black/Metallic Silver colorway of the Nike Pegasus Premium SE is beginning to appear at retailers now ahead of its official release date. The pair features a deep purple shade across its engineered mesh and synthetic upper. The near-navy hue is complimented by Metallic Silver branding, but the key element of this colorway is its splattered print.

With a look reminiscent of the cement print used on the iconic Air Jordan 4, the splattered application covers the synthetic and foam portions of the sneaker. Even more, the print appears to have a reflective coating, which gives the shoe added visibility when light hits it.
Nike hasn’t shied away from using familiar motifs on the Pegasus Premium. Previous pairs of note include a style inspired by the self-destructing Mayfly running shoe, a Persian Violet rendition reminiscent of some of Nike’s classic Air Max sneakers and an iteration which took its colors from Forrest Gump’s white, blue and red Cortez.
Groundbreaking for its combination of the Oregon-based sportswear company’s proprietary ZoomX foam, visible Air Zoom cushioning and ReactX foam, the Pegasus Premium is unique in that it has caught on both with serious runners and as an everyday lifestyle shoe.
This upcoming Nike Pegasus Premium SE will be released in women’s sizing for a retail price of $220 with a style code of IH0861-500. Ahead of an official launch, the pair can be found now from select U.S. retailers including Hibbett. Sizes are already beginning to sell out and given the pair’s special-edition distinction, it’s likely that this particular style was produced in lower quantities than typical Pegasus Premiums.
