Officially speaking, the new Nike Air Foamposite One dropping in October is named for its trio of colors: black, Dark Smoke and gray. But it’s the print adorning its upper that grabs more attention than the colors, inevitably leading to it informing the nickname
The Nike Air Foamposite One Carbon Fiber has been confirmed for release in less than a month. Normally, a carbon fiber shank is used on the nearly 30-year-old basketball sneaker. That feature remains, but a print replicating the look of the strong and lightweight material also appears across the entirety of the molded upper.

Black and marginally lighter grays define the bulk of the shoe, including the suede and mesh that form the top of the upper. Branding keeps up the monochrome look, while the outsole is rendered in a translucent blue rubber.

2025 has been a big year for the Air Foamposite One, as its legendary Galaxy colorway from 2012 was brought back for the first time. A bunch of new colorways have also been introduced, including Triple-White, Psychic Blue, Black/Volt and more. Just last month, the beloved Cough Drop edition also returned for the first time in 15 years.
Sharing a similar aesthetic to the Foamposite is the GT Future, a brand-new silhouette with a molded upper that debuted during the summer with only 300 pairs made available in New York City.
The Nike Air Foamposite One Carbon Fiber will release on Oct. 10 through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $240.
