Daniëlle Cathari, former creative director of Kith Women, is gearing up to release her second England-made New Balance collaboration through the NYC-based label.
Announced Tuesday is the Daniëlle Cathari x New Balance 991v2 “Reverse.” The new style is a follow-up to February 2024’s New Balance 991v2 “Matcha” collaboration from Cathari, which featured a green Pistachio suede upper with a Chocolate Brown mesh base. As the new sneaker’s Reverse nickname suggests, it’s essentially an inverse color placement of what was seen on the previous Matcha collaboration.

For the Daniëlle Cathari x New Balance 991v2 Reverse, the shoe flips to a Pistachio green mesh base with Chocolate Brown suede overlays. According to a Kith product description, the new style is inspired by Cathari’s love of pastries with colors that reference “delectable baked goods made with classic nutty flavor profiles.”
Subtly branded, the collaboration features “Cathari” embroidered in cursive on the reflective tongue along with co-branding on the insole. Beyond the key colors, further details include gray and silver accents and cream coloring on the midsole.
If the first Daniëlle Cathari x New Balance 991v2 collaboration is any indication, fans can expect highly limited availability for the new colorway. Pairs of the ’24 iteration frequently resell for over $1,000, with several recorded sales closer to the $2,000 range.
The New Balance Made in UK 991v2 was introduced in September 2023 via a collaboration with Italian luxury fashion house Stone Island. The new model updates the original New Balance 991 sneaker from 2001 with a streamlined shape and modern FuelCell cushioning technology.
The raffle for the Daniëlle Cathari x New Balance 991v2 Reverse sneaker opened Tuesday on the Kith app and will close Thursday. In addition to the raffle, a limited number of pairs will be released Friday alongside the Kith Women Winter 2025 global release at Kith doors and from the Kith app and e-commerce store. Unlike the previous release, which came exclusively in women’s sizing, Cathari has confirmed the Reverse iteration will also be available in men’s sizes. The sneakers retail for $260 with a style code of U991CK2.
