After the launch of the “Black Metallic Reimagined” colorway caused frenzied line-ups around the country, the Air Jordan 5 Retro is having a somewhat unexpected moment in the spotlight. Often playing second fiddle to more popular models like the Air Jordan 4, Michael Jordan’s fifth signature sneaker is set to have a banner year with the arrival of more classic original colorways and new collaborations from brands like Awake NY. Joining the already stacked lineup is yet another new collab courtesy of The Whitaker Group retailer A Ma Maniére.
Picking up where its 2023 “Dawn” and “Dusk” Air Jordan 5 colorways left off, A Ma Maniére will soon give the sneaker a “Violet Ore/Burgundy Crush” makeover. Newly leaked images give a clear idea of what to expect from the upcoming sneaker, which is currently expected to arrive in the coming months.

Based around a white leather upper, the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 5 “Violet Ore” features a dark burgundy midsole with violet accenting the sneaker’s fighter jet-inspired teeth design. At the heel, original-styled Nike Air branding is embroidered in violet, and the shoe also features Jordan’s personalized 23 embroidery near the rear.
Elsewhere, staple A Ma Maniére design details include the store’s “A” logo on the tongue of the left shoe and outsole of the right, a customized netting on the tongue and side panels and a slimmed down, deconstructed ankle collar complete with a quilted lining.
Unlike the aforementioned “Dawn” and “Dusk” pairs, the vintage-inspired pre-yellowed detailing featured on the sole and TPU netting of those pairs is not nearly as dramatic on this upcoming colorway. And in addition to this “Violet Ore/Burgundy Crush” style, a second new makeup is expected to join it in “White/Diffused Blue,” although images of that iteration have yet to surface.
Current information points to a May 14 release for this A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 5 “Violet Ore” collaboration. With an expected retail price of $225, the sneaker has a SKU ofIB1528-100 and its full colorway is “White/Violet Ore/Burgundy Crush/Black.” Readers can expect confirmed launch details to be officially announced within the coming weeks.
