Vanessa Kirby Embraces the Barely There Shoe Trend in Satin Stilettos for ‘Fantastic Four’ Red Carpet

The actress continued her maternity style evolution with one of summer’s biggest footwear trends.

Vanessa Kirby stepped out in Berlin on Monday for another stop on her “Fantastic Four: First Steps” press tour, embracing one of summer’s most popular shoe trends in the process. The actress wore a pair of barely there black satin stilettos, a minimalist silhouette she’s leaned on throughout her maternity fashion evolution.

The sandals featured a razor-thin vamp strap across the toes, a narrow slingback strap that looped softly around the heel and a sharply angled sole — all rendered in smooth black satin. The towering stiletto heel appeared to measure over 4 inches, offering elevation without visual weight. The barely-there construction — little more than two fine straps and a heel — left most of her foot exposed, echoing the stripped-back elegance of early 2000s red carpet dressing.

Kirby’s dress balanced sheer layering with sleek structure. The transparent dress featured a high neck, a and a long-sleeve underlayer in gauzy black mesh that peeked through a bandeau-style bodice and paneled skirt, both rendered in a soft velvet-like textile. Strategic cutouts at the hips revealed skin while elongating her silhouette, bringing contrast and modernity to the otherwise monochrome look.

Though each ensemble on her press tour has felt distinct, Kirby’s footwear has told a consistent story. In Paris the day prior, she wore strappy gold wraparound heels with a lilac Givenchy halter gown — a bolder spin on the same stripped-back theme. In Mexico, she paired a teal Schiaparelli dress with Manolo Blahnik’s Paloma sandals in snakeskin, and later opted for another barely there Blahnik style at a fan meet-and-greet.

Styled once again by Andrew Mukamal, this latest look continues Kirby’s pattern of pairing bold silhouettes with barely-there footwear. In embracing the trend so consistently, Kirby joins a growing list of celebrities who have turned to minimalist heels as a red carpet staple as of late, like Hailey Bieber, John Cena’s wife Shay Shariatzadeh and Heidi Klum.
