Tessa Thompson fully embraced Tory Burch spring 2026 designs in New York City on Tuesday, out and about in an autumnal ensemble including a pair of embellished pumps while promoting the film “Hedda.”
Thompson’s pumps presented russet colored leather and a relatively high, curved vamp in addition to a narrow, but not super pointed, toe. The style made a statement with a chainlink embellishment of tiny gold hoops draped across the vamp. Meanwhile, the set was elevated by a short but wide block heel, a more stable and demure take on the pump. With this modest silhouette, the shoes contrasted the black platform pumps with a soaring stiletto heel, which Thompson wore the same day with a red Willy Chavarria spring 2026 look.

Thompson’s pumps were featured in Tory Burch’s spring 2026 collection which hit the runway in September as part of New York Fashion Week. The chain embellishment was applied to multiple styles, be in the short pump or a taller slingback, and stood out against different colors. In addition to this chainlink motif, the collection also featured more intricately detailed heel styles.

Thompson wore the pumps with an ensemble straight off the runway, a bright red leather belted midi skirt and a collared beige cardigan. Emily Mercer wrote of the collection in a WWD review, “While the cool kookiness that has run through her recent collections took on a more subtle tone for spring, Burch’s take on everyday sportswear remained vibrant, brimming with personality and craft.”
This is just one example of Thompson’s taste in footwear. Earlier this month, she donned the Saint Laurent Loulou slingbacks, which showcase an elongated toe with a resin cabochon steel toe cap and a curved heel in gold-plated solid metal.
