Queen Letizia of Spain embraced the refinement of a kitten heel for the Pascua Militar ceremony in Madrid on Tuesday, opting for a black version of the style.
Queen Letizia’s pumps featured a classic silhouette with a pointed toe and low-cut vamp. A short tapered stiletto heel offered a subtle boost to the royal, falling squarely within the kitten heel realm. They appeared to be her black Clara kitten heels from Magrit, a Spanish luxury brand which Queen Letizia often wears. The Clara silhouette has become a go-to for Queen Letizia; toward the end of 2025, she wore a burgundy pair on two occasions, in early November and then later in the month, to accompany red dresses.
Kitten heels are certainly prevalent among royal family members and politicians, but their popularity has extended beyond the stately sphere as well. In the entertainment industry, celebrities like Kate Winslet and Rita Ora are fans of the modest heel style.

On Tuesday, Queen Letizia’s black pumps went with a long flowing black skirt and a white blouse with thin pleats and wide sleeves.
Queen Letizia has donned other shoe styles from Magrit as well. Take, for example, the beige slingback kitten heels — the brand’s Carlota style — worn as a neutral accent to a blue Carolina Herrera dress in June. And in December, she wore a black suede boot style from the brand to accompany a gray Cortana dress.
