Meghan Markle hopped aboard the boat shoe trend on Wednesday in Jordan when she paid a visit to the QuestScope Youth Center in Jordan and showed off her soccer skills.
The QuestScope Youth Center is part of the Za’atari refugee camp, located east of Mafraq in northern Jordan, and serves as a home to displaced Syrians.
Markle wore a slim shoe style from Vince for the visit, donning the Marin Suede Boat Loafer. The brand interpreted the classic boat shoe with a soft suede upper and a thin leather sole, fitting in with the slim footwear trend. The design features artisanal raw edges and hide laces as well. Offered in a neutral colorway called Dune Beige Suede, the Marin Suede Boat Loafer is priced at $295, though it’s currently on sale for $206.50 at the time of this article’s publication.
Markle’s footwear complemented an easygoing yet put-together ensemble of wardrobe basics, including tan trousers cinched with a brown belt, a dark green T-shirt and a white collared button-down, which she left open.

Markle is right on trend with her footwear, since boat shoes have been experiencing a resurgence lately. FN covered Sperry guiding the modern prep revival last year, and other brands like Larroudé and G.H. Bass and Corrider have offered takes on the style.
When it comes to shoe style and fashion in general, Markle is a fan of versatile neutrals. She recently wore black pointed boots to the All-Star Game this month, for example, to complement a monochrome navy outfit. When it comes to formal heels, she often looks to Aquazzura, wearing the Bow Tie pumps or Black Tie sandals, among others.
