Mary J. Blige attended a Lifetime’s premiere screening for the Mary J. Blige Presents “Be Happy” held at Hearst Tower on Wednesday in New York. For the event, the Bronx native arrived in an all-black ensemble that she brought to life with gold accents all over, down to her shoes.
The R&B star is known for her preference for wearing thigh-high boots, but she left the tall boot design behind this time, opting for a pair of ankle boots by Christian Louboutin. She opted for the French footwear designer’s Delicotte 100mm black suede ankle-boot style. The suede pointed-toe boots feature a pointed-toe design and have a tasteful gold mirror leather heel detail.
From a side view, the gold design on the boot extends from the counter, running down the arch and wrapping around the heel. However, the inner side of the 4-inch heel is adorned with the brand’s signature red instead of gold. The boots are not available online but retail for $1,095.

She matched the boots to a gold and black ensemble from Schiaparelli’s fall 2025 collection. The look was modeled by Gigi Hadid on the runway. The outfit consisted of a black wool crepe jacket with an oversize tonal shearling collar. The cinched waist is emphasized by belt straps adorned with a large signature Keyhole bijou in gold metal. She paired the jacket with matching high-waisted cowboy pants that had a looser fit along the leg and were worn over the boots.
The “Just Fine” singer extended her partnership with Lifetime at the start of the year for three original films, including the first Mary J. Blige Presents “Be Happy” directed by Gabourey Sidibe. The “Power Book II: Ghost” actress previously worked with Lifetime to develop several films based on her music including 2023’s “Real Love,” “Family Affair” and “Strength of a Woman.”
Her latest, “Be Happy,” stars Tisha Campbell, Mekhi Phifer and Russell Hornsby in a story that follows 50-year-old Val, played by Campbell, who is a devoted wife and stay-at-home mom who seeks to reignite the spark in her marriage after her child heads to college. The film premieres on Lifetime on Saturday. Gayle King, Kandi Burruss, Mona Scott-Young, and more also attended the screening.
