Gracie Abrams kept the Y2K energy alive in Paris on Monday, stepping out in sharp black-and-navy slingback heels paired with a white confetti-tiered minidress at Chanel’s couture fall 2025 show — a look that mixed playful nostalgia with sleek couture polish.
The shoes, pulled from Chanel’s 2024 Métiers d’Art collection, featured a two-tone palette with a glossy black patent toe and midnight navy upper. Cut in a classic slingback silhouette, the heels featured an almond-shaped toe box, a slim stiletto heel and open side panels that added visual lightness to the shape.
The high-shine finish paid homage to the lacquered Coromandel screens that inspired the Métiers collection — a reference to Gabrielle Chanel’s private apartment at 31 Rue Cambon — and added depth to the otherwise minimalist design. This particular Métiers d’Art collection was first shown in Hangzhou, China, drawing inspiration from Gabrielle Chanel’s personal Coromandel screens. The dark, reflective palette of Abrams’ shoes subtly echoed the mood of those dreamlike, lacquered panels — another quiet link to the house’s history, layered into the look.

Abrams paired the heels with a white Chanel minidress featuring a fitted bodice, thin spaghetti straps, and a flared skirt made from three confetti-speckled ruffled tiers. The silhouette hit high above the knee, and the light-catching texture gave the dress a playful bounce. While the overall shape read fresh and modern, the embellishment and proportions nodded to early 2000s partywear.
This isn’t her first time combining soft color with structured footwear. At the Grammys in February, Abrams wore a butter-yellow bridal Chanel gown with black pointed-toe pumps. In May, she re-wore those same pumps with a custom beaded halter gown at Cannes.
Monday’s appearance followed that same logic. Often styled by Spencer Singer, Abrams’ latest look extended her Chanel narrative with minimal lines and contrast-focused details. The dress offered texture and lift, while the slingbacks kept the silhouette grounded — a recurring formula across her recent outings.
