Melissa director Paulo Pedó told FN, “Ganni has a very distinctive point of view on dressing — one that balances attitude with a sense of irreverence. It reflects and reinterprets the Danish everyday in a way that feels both effortless and expressive. In addition, the brand plays an important role in contemporary fashion by offering a more accessible and conscious approach, without compromising on personality.”

Many people can remember wearing jelly shoes in their early days, and that goes for Ganni’s creative director Ditte Reffstrup, who told FN, “I’ve always loved jelly shoes. I grew up with them, so there’s something very nostalgic about them, but they’re also playful and expressive. For this collaboration, we brought in the things we always come back to, like frills, leopard print, bold color and our fruit motifs, which have been part of Ganni since the beginning. It’s that mix of something familiar with something a bit unexpected that makes it feel right.”

As for how Ganni’s home base was infused into the collection, Reffstrup explained, “Copenhagen style is very much about dressing for real life. In summer especially, your day doesn’t really have a fixed plan. You might start at work, go for a swim, meet friends, and suddenly it turns into dinner or dancing, so everything has to move with you.”

The creative director continued, “We wanted the collection to feel like that. Easy to wear, a bit playful, and something you can style in your own way.”

The Melissa x Ganni collection will be available Monday at shopmelissa.com and ganni.com/us/home.
