Dakota Johnson repped Alessandro Michele‘s reinvention of the Valentino Rockstud shoes to the brand’s spring 2026 couture show in Paris on Wednesday.
Johnson wore items from the pre-fall 2026 collection, including a fresh take on the iconic Rockstud shoe, which is so closely associated with the Italian luxury brand. In the pre-fall collection, Michele showcased many versions of the Rockstud, one of which featured an elongated metal-tipped square toe. Johnson wore a black leather version of this shoe, which also featured a caged strap design embellished with the recognizable pyramid-shaped studs. The studs are inspired by the “bugnato” design technique used on Roman buildings and palazzi.
The “Materialists” actress wasn’t the only attendee repping the Rockstud at the fashion show — Tyla wore a different option, a pump with the brand’s Plus de Pois sequin embroidery design. The Rockstud is experiencing a comeback as Michele shows interest in the design and a version of the style was featured in “The Devil Wears Prada 2.”

The rest of Johnson’s look was all about pattern. She wore a pair of brown sheer tights with a romantic floral design and black lace briefs which had button-down top with a dainty animal print-like design tucked into them. Layered over this was a brown jacket with strong shoulders, feathered cuffs and streaks of gold patterning the garment.
Johnson was announced as a global brand ambassador for Valentino in October, as WWD exclusively reported. She is a longtime friend and supporter of Michele, who started as creative director in 2024.
