The 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has wrapped up after two action-packed weekends headlined by Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber and Karol G. As the dust of the Indio, Calif., desert settles, FN can analyze which brands and styles emerged triumphant in the great battle of Coachella fashion.
Footwear is crucial when it comes to Coachella, whether you’re a guest in the crowd or a headliner on stage. Among attendees and performers’ looks, boots unsurprisingly reigned supreme: moto, classic cowboy, Western fringy, sleek riding styles and lace-up work boots were all accounted for.

In the past month, per Google Trends, search interest for women’s moto boots increased 750 percent and interest in women’s cowboy boots increased 300 percent, while interest in men’s cowboy boots went up 350 percent. The moto boot appeared particularly prevalent at this year’s iteration of the festival, with buckles and harness details adding a biker edge to a variety of outfits.

In terms of boots on the ground, colors veered neutral and earth-toned, with black, beige, brown and white in the mix, alongside some pops of color like red. Onstage, performers were more likely to experiment with vibrant designs, with Karol G’s colorful blue lace boots with intricate embellishment, made by Shoe Lab Doheny, serving as such an example. Additionally, Madonna appeared on stage with Sabrina Carpenter wearing a plum-colored lace-up knee-high boot — a silhouette she wore when she headlined Coachella in 2006.
More celebrities were part of the boot craze. Justin Bieber gave Loewe a boost when he wore the brand’s Bobby style — in black then beige for weekend one and two, respectively — during his headlining sets. The boot features a lug sole and cutouts at the shaft. Between April 10 to 20, search interest in “Justin Bieber Coachella Boots” increased by 1,000 percent, per Google Trends.
Timberland was also present in Indio. Becky G laced up the women’s Stone Street 6-Inch Waterproof platform boots in Wheat to go with paint-splattered jean shorts and a crop top at Revolve Festival. SZA showed up as a guest performer during Bieber’s weekend two set, also wearing a style from the brand.
In terms of sneakers, Reebok generated heat with custom silver shoes for global ambassador Karol G. She wore the Freestyle Hi during weekend one and an amped up boot version of the same 1980s-era fitness sneaker during weekend two, the latter of which was co-created with The Shoe Surgeon. Meanwhile, Korean brand Stand Oil made custom vegan leather boots for Katsye.
Naturally, Coachella continues to serve as a platform for fashion brands to get noticed. To offer more examples, Ugg took the opportunity to dress newly announced campaign star PinkPantheress in the new Quinn Ballet Sneakers onstage, and Valentino ambassador Sombr wore a custom edgy look by Alessandro Michele grounded by Rockstud boots.
