As part of its Fashion Color Report for spring, Pantone Color Institute surveyed New York designers as to what must-have items consumers should have in their closets this spring. Some designers named their own creations, while others offered simple staples, such as miniskirts or jersey dresses. Below, a look at their insights.

Laura Poretzky for Abaeté: A Chambray Blue dress.
Akiko Ogawa: A blouson jacket and underpants (jodhpur combination) in gray, bright blue and pink.
