Miami-based swimwear company Red Carter has joined Amerex Group in New York, which licenses outerwear and swimwear for brands like Jones New York, Weather Tamer and 1 Madison. Carter’s new title is design director, and the acquisition includes his partnership in New York’s Salon9 showroom, which represents his Glam and namesake collections, as well as Mara Hoffman, 6 Shore Road and Martha Rey.
“I was having trouble keeping up with production and delivering on time, and buyers suggested this option because they really believe in the line,” said Carter, adding it has already resulted in shipping cruise 2011 to 400 Macy’s units compared to 60.
