SOMETHING OLD: Famed for her exquisite taste in vintage objects, French designer Vanessa Bruno is about to give visitors to the famed Saint-Ouen flea market on the outskirts of Paris a glimpse into her favorite stalls.
Bruno is among seven art and design personalities chosen to curate a selection of antiques for an event dubbed “7 Parcours Capitaux.” To be held from Sept. 7 to 24, it will coincide with Paris Design Week and the Biennale des Antiquaires, and the opening of Ma Cocotte, a new restaurant designed by Philippe Starck.
“I like browsing through flea markets and being transported to different eras. It’s like a treasure hunt where discovering rare objects triggers ideas,” Bruno told WWD.

Objects selected by the participants will be flagged by a card and scattered among the hundreds of stalls that make up the Serpette and Paul Bert markets, encouraging visitors to browse. Among the 21 objects chosen by Bruno are a Seventies coffee table by Belgian designer Fernand Dresse and a silk and lace skirt from 1880.
