HELPING OUT: The garden created outside Marni’s runway venue in Milan seemed to foreshadow of the Green Carpet Fashion Awards, Italia set for later in the evening. The verdant talk prompted talk about sustainability and Renzo Rosso’s Only The Brave Foundation is no stranger to this issue.
Among the foundation’s projects is to rebuild a school in Sarnano, in the Marche region, hit by a devastating earthquake last year. Rosso and his partner Arianna Alessi have teamed with artist Andrea Bocelli on the project. “It’s not only the school, but we are creatively designing a courtyard with a garden, a gym and other facilities,” said Rosso, whose OTB controls Marni. The foundation will invest 2.4 million euros in this project. Alessi said she hoped the school will open in April. “It will be both a sustainable and modern building,” she added. The foundation is also working with the San Patrignano community on addiction, talking to students about prevention.
