DREAM ON: Los Angeles-based jewelry designer Kathryn Bentley celebrated the opening of her first store, Dream Collective, in Silver Lake with a summer solstice soiree on Wednesday evening. The 1,000-square-foot space houses both her costume jewelry line Dream Collective, retailing from$60-$200, and Kathryn Bentley fine jewelry, retailing from $300-$6,000. The store also carries local clothing and accessory lines such as A Detacher, Loup Charmant, Clu, Jesse Kamm, Jen Stilwell and Beatrice Valenzuela. “Almost every additional product in the store has been handmade by a friend,” said Bentley, who once apprenticed for Philip Crangi. “You really don’t have to look much further than this city for talent.” The shop originally housed a joint effort between Bentley and Clare Vivier, who opened her own store on the same block last week.
