TALENT SPOTTING: Purple, which has a large roster of clients in fashion, hospitality and lifestyle, has established a talent and partnerships division to represent names from music, film and sports including the top female racing driver Jamie Chadwick.
Purple Talent focuses on global communications, brand partnerships and creative representation and is led by William Rice, a founder of Purple’s original entertainment division. That division previously represented people including Prince, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Björk, Adele and Lewis Hamilton.
The division has launched in collaboration with the independent talent agency August, which was formed by Ebi Sampson and James Cunningham in 2020. August has a client list that includes the artist Soldier and musicians EsDeeKid, Usher, Lizzo, Earl Sweatshirt and Ezra Collective, the first jazz act to win the Brit Award for Best Group.

The partnership, known as August at Purple, will see the two agencies share clients, resources and offices globally with the teams based at Purple’s London and Los Angeles offices.
Purple Talent also encompasses a new creative representation and partnerships team with photographers, stylists, casting directors and other experts on board.
Going forward, the aim is to create brand and partnership opportunities for Purple Talent clients in areas such as branding, and white label products. Purple also plans to tap its creative partners for shoots, films and other projects involving its music, film and sports talent.
Caroline Lynch, Purple cofounder, said that as creative and business communities continue to grow closer, “we have the foresight, network and marketing intelligence to help promote projects and create new endeavors for mutual benefit. Our new talent division will provide that platform.”
Purple Talent sits alongside the agency’s lifestyle, fashion, beauty, digital and events divisions, and will access the company’s global network of more than 250 category specialists across seven offices in London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Dubai, Hong Kong & Singapore.
