NEW YORK — Liz Claiborne Inc. has swapped two executive-level positions, which will affect five of its department store apparel brands, including Liz Claiborne, Emma James, Intuitions, J.H. Collectibles and Tapemeasure.
Effective immediately, Denise Johnston and Aru Kulkarni will switch titles and brand responsibilities. Johnston, president of department store moderate brands, will become president of Liz Claiborne apparel. Kulkarni will move from her president of Liz Claiborne apparel to president of department store moderate brands.
Trudy Sullivan, executive vice president, couldn’t be reached for comment Wednesday, but said in a statement, “These changes are designed to enhance our ability to support department stores as they evolve to address changing consumer needs, attitudes and shopping habits. They are part of our ongoing efforts to keep step with the changing face of the retail and wholesale environment.”
Mary Ellen Prentis, vice president and group manufacturing director, special markets, will add Liz Claiborne apparel to her responsibilities, which already include Claiborne’s moderate brands.
