Venezuelan designer Camila Castillo interpreted the modern art of Gego and Naum Gabo into geometric patterns and origamilike folds in bras, panties, bodysuits and minidresses for her label Camila x Castillo. Using a stark palette of silver, black, white and beige, she used woven leather panels and glitter straps that crisscrossed the body to add sass to simple silhouettes like sheathes and T-shirt dresses. Castillo even created an unusual accessory: a single sleeve ruched with metallic squares. Her proclivity for cutting and sewing by hand didn’t serve her well, however, when the seams and zippers turned out crooked and puckered.
