PARIS — Marco Zanini is leaving Schiaparelli, the couture house said in a statement on Friday.
This confirms a WWD report from Nov. 3, which quoted sources as saying that the Milan-born designer was unhappy at the brand owned by Diego Della Valle, feeling the label was “not exactly his fit.”
Schiaparelli said a new creative director is to be announced “soon,” adding: “The House of Schiaparelli is looking towards its future while transcending the aesthetic codes created by Elsa Schiaparelli. It follows a dynamic where a contemporary spirit meets its founder’s daring personality.”
