LONDON — Browns has launched an exclusive 21-piece capsule collection with Los Angeles-based brand Amiri.
A black leather bomber jacket embossed with bones, ripped skinny jeans, and silk shirts printed with psychedelic graphics, the collection leans into founder and creative director Mike Amiri’s design beginnings as a kind of couturier for legendary L.A. performers. Building on his beginnings in music, for this collection Amiri turned to 90’s hip-hop and DJ Premier for inspiration.
“Browns has an incredible reputation for housing the most innovative and prestigious brands in the world. We really admire the store’s commitment to this ethos and unique way of presenting its collections,” said Amiri.

Making its debut at Browns in “The Focus” room, a space dedicated to the retailer’s new concepts, the capsule is presented in a pale green installation which showcases records from musicians, such as Erykah Badu’s “Worldwide Underground” and Dr. Dre’s “The Chronic,” which have inspired Amiri’s creative process.
“We have been working with Amiri since its inception and have loved watching the brand thrive to become a luxury power player standing shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the biggest names in fashion both commercially and culturally,” said Thom Scherdel, senior menswear buying manager at Browns.
“The fall 2023 show had so much identity and we wanted to harness the momentum and look at ways we could build on it and create an exclusive capsule that would be even more relevant for the Browns customer,” he added.
Establishing his label in 2014, Amiri has since been nominated for the Menswear Designer of the Year at the CFDA Fashion Awards in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
In 2021, the designer established the Amiri Prize, an annual award and incubator program dedicated to encourage, nurture and showcase up-and-coming talent.
The 2023 finalists, revealed Tuesday, include Abdel El Tayeb, Dorian Who, Ekwerike Chukwuma, Grace Ling, Keith Herron, Li Gong, Luke Zhou and Maike Huang, Lukhanyo Mdingi, and Maxwell Osborne.
