Virgil Abloh’s legacy continues to bring creatives together.
On Thursday night, Off-White hosted a dinner and late-night after party at Public Records in Brooklyn to celebrate the brand’s 10x10 “Icons Reimagined” collaboration. The evening kicked off with cocktails in the music venue’s intimate listening lounge before a vegan candle-lit seated dinner on the ground floor, served family style.
The 10×10 collaboration features contributions from 10 creatives, who each reimagined 10 signature Off-White products across categories. Participants include photographer Renell Medrano, who designed “eyewear,” while rapper and actor Scott Mescudi put his stamp on “sneakers,” and A$AP Nast headed up the “objects” category. Products will drop for purchase in the coming months, along with launch parties in other cities.

Most of the 10×10 collaborators were in attendance, joined by friends of the brand like JT, Jordyn Woods, Sandy Liang, Wisdom Kaye, Kelela, Vashtie and more.
While given free reign in their designs, “ I wanted to respect V’s work,” said Luar creative director Raul Lopez of his approach to his bag for the collaboration. “It could be the most basic thing, and [Abloh] would tweak it just a little bit. And I wanted to do that with the bag, so I incorporated a bunch of his bags into one bag.” Lopez’s day bag will feature miniature bags as pockets on the exterior, and the miniatures will also be released as separate bags.
For London-based director Bafic, the Off-White project was an opportunity to pay homage to a longtime friend and collaborator. After meeting Abloh through mutual friends, Bafic worked on the stage design and visuals for the London launch of his collaboration with Nike, followed by a documentary about the late designer’s first collection as men’s creative director for Louis Vuittion. For 10×10, Bafic approached the publishing category “Fine Print” with a book and object inspired by words of wisdom collected from other creators.
”When we were making the film with Virgil, I had this epiphany — that this web, this thing of ours, it’s multilayered. It’s people who came up together, they worked together, but then also you’re bringing people up. You’re connecting people,” said Bafic. “Doing this project is like another strand to that web,” he added. “I think the more we collaborate with each other and venture to places where we’re not supposed to be, as creative people, it makes the web of creativity that much more impenetrable. Culture’s a thing you can’t contain.”
As dinner carried on, a line of after party guests queued outside of the venue for the third act of the night: a DJ set in the Sound Room, lit in signature Off-White blue.
