IN THE BAG: The London Miu Miu gang gathered on Thursday night for the premiere of British director Joanna Hogg’s short film “Autobiografia di una Borsetta” for Miu Miu Women’s Tales series at the Curzon Cinema in Mayfair.
Guests included Alexa Chung, Ellie Bamber, Greta Bellamacina, Sebastian Croft, Hannah Dodd, Mackenzie Davis and Raffey Cassidy, who played the role of Zsófia in “The Brutalist.”
They watched the emotional film, which documented the imaginary life a Miu Miu Wander bag, and its experiences of joy, fear, loss, abandonment, and its meditations on death and eternity.

The screening was followed by a discussion between Hogg and The Gentlewoman’s editor Penny Martin about the ideas, inspiration and innovation behind the film.
Hogg said she saw the film as an “interesting vehicle to express my ideas about the end of life and the fears we all have. The bag became this vessel for feelings that I maybe wouldn’t be so free to express if it was an actual human character.”
The film is the 29th installment of the Miu Miu Women’s Tales series, which Miuccia Prada launched in 2011.
Cinema has long been a Prada passion and the series allows women directors to speak up and offer different points of view. Prada has described the series as “a conversation with women about women,” and it is one of the only consistent, commissioning platforms exclusively for female filmmakers.
After the Q&A session, guests moved to the member’s club Langan’s, where they were joined by brand ambassador Emma Corrin and “Hoard” actress Saura Lightfoot-Leon. The was Champagne and oysters in abundance.
