SLOW AND STEADY: Slowear has cast anchor on the Rive Gauche.
Following its Paris outpost in the Marais, the Italian men’s wear specialist has inaugurated a second unit on the Boulevard Saint-Germain, with three more in the pipeline: Tokyo in July, New York in August and also Padua.
By year-end the multibrand retailer, which comprises Incotex (pants), Zanone (knits), Glanshirt (shirts) and Montedoro (outerwear) under the Slowear banner, is expected to run a total of 20 boutiques.
“We are a family company, so we don’t have to grow; we are taking it slowly and looking for the right locations,” Roberto Compagno, Slowear’s president, told WWD.
He pointed out that the group, which registered a 2014 turnover of 50 million euros, or $66 million at average exchange for the period, has doubled its sales in the last three years.
