Ted Baker London, the British lifestyle brand, will open its fourth New York store on June 30.
The 1,650-square-foot boutique, which will be located in The Shops at Columbus Circle, has a unique design that is intended to speak to the history of the area, one that references measurements, city grids and distance. The thinking behind the design, according to the company, is that Columbus Circle is the point from which all official distances from New York are measured. This, along Charing Cross, the exact center of London, inspired the design.
Feature walls throughout the store are rendered in a rough concrete finish and brushed brass straps line the walls, creating a gridlike effect. Scale model buildings are affixed to the walls to depict a 3-D cityscape. The walls at the center of the store are covered in 3-D wallpaper to create a repeat pattern of measurement tools.
The store will carry the brand’s men’s and women’s apparel and accessories. During the opening weekend, the company will be offering a gift-with-threshold-purchases and other giveaways.
