New Avon, new headquarters.
The North American division of the direct-selling beauty business is moving its office from Midtown Manhattan to lower Manhattan — One Liberty Plaza, to be exact. New Avon will have a 91,000-square-foot office there, which spans two floors. About 400 employees will move into the Brookfield Properties-owned space.
The move comes nearly a year after New Avon was taken over by private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management, which took over the business in March 2016. Cerberus also made a $435 million investment in Avon Products as part of that deal. Avon Products reported a 7 percent sales decline for fiscal 2016 on Thursday.
New Avon’s new office is located in a 54-story, 2.3 million-square-foot glass tower with views of New York Harbor and the Hudson and East Rivers. The business joins another major beauty player — Revlon — in Manhattan’s financial district.
