PARIS — Emmanuel Poncet is expected to step down as editor of Condé Nast’s GQ France as early as Friday, industry sources told WWD.
A former music columnist for left-leaning French daily Liberation, Poncet took the reins of GQ France in 2013, when his predecessor Anne Boulay took the helm of another Condé Nast title in France, Vanity Fair.
The French web site PresseNews reported Thursday that Condé Nast France had been unsatisfied with the performance of the imprint of GQ launched in 2008, and was planning to revamp the title with a new editorial direction.
Condé Nast France declined to comment on the departure, but confirmed that one of Poncet’s associates, the magazine’s deputy editor Séverine Pierron, had left the magazine in December.
Pierron worked for five years as a journalist for the French edition of Glamour before joining GQ France.
