Harry Slatkin, president and founder of Slatkin & Co. and president of home design for Limited Brands, was the keynote speaker at a fund-raising kickoff event for Autism Speaks’ Walk Now for Autism, which will be held on Oct. 11 in Columbus, Ohio.
The speech, which took place Thursday at Limited Brands’ headquarters in Columbus, was meant to drum up support for the second annual Walk Now for Autism.
Last year more than 10,000 people attended the walk, which raised more than $600,000.
Slatkin, whose son has autism, is a founding board member of Autism Speaks, which aims to support research for and raise awareness about the disorder. Slatkin and his wife, Laura, also founded the New York Center for Autism and they sit on the board of the New England Center for Autism.
