Ken M. Mandelbaum, chairman and chief executive officer of Big M Inc., operating company of Mandee and Annie Sez stores, is retiring from the Totowa, N.J.-based firm, and being succeeded by Alan Mandelbaum, president of Mandee.
There are more than 150 Mandee and Annie Sez stores in seven states.
Annie Sez, an off-price specialty store selling branded merchandise, recently opened a new 11,000-square-foot flagship in East Brunswick, N.J., the design of which will serve as the prototype for all new Annie Sez stores and for store renovations chainwide.
Mandee recently launched its “Get Your Fashion On” slogan to reflect the value-priced chain’s focus on trend-right junior apparel and accessories for women aged 17 to 25. The Mandee chain will continue to grow with a new prototype design as seen in its recently redesigned store in Port Jefferson, N.Y.
Big M Inc. is a family-owned-and-operated business with 3,000 employees founded in 1949. Ken Mandelbaum will remain with the organization as a consultant.
