LONDON — Unilever has named Gina Boswell as the head of Unilever U.K. and Ireland.
Boswell, who is currently executive vice president, personal care North America at Unilever, will take up the new role Sept. 7. She will report to Jan Zijderveld, president, Europe at Unilever.
Boswell succeeds Graeme Pitkethly, who was promoted to chief financial officer at Unilever in May, effective in October. Pitkethly had replaced Jean-Marc Huët, after Huët left the company to pursue other interests.
Before joining Unilever, Boswell was president of global brands at Alberto Culver, and before that was chief operating officer for Avon North America. The executive joined Unilever in 2011 when the firm acquired Alberto-Culver, and Unilever said Boswell has “played a significant role in successfully integrating the business in North America, as well as leading the personal-care category to market leadership in the very competitive North American market.”
Boswell commented: “The U.K. has a sophisticated consumer base and a dynamic retail environment and I look forward to building on the strong foundations of Unilever U.K. brands.”
