Elizabeth Wood has been appointed chief human resources officer of Levi Strauss & Co., effective May 1.
Wood, who will report to Levi’s president and chief executive officer Chip Bergh, has been senior vice president of human resources at Toys ‘R’ Us Inc. and prior to that was chief HR officer at Warnaco Group before its February 2013 acquisition by PVH Corp.
Earlier in her career, she held human resources positions with Brooks Brothers and Marks and Spencer Group plc.
“We hope to inspire our team members to do the best work of their careers while they’re here and I’m confident that Elizabeth is the right leader to help us achieve that ambition,” said Bergh. “Her valuable retail and transformation experience is critical as we turn around the company and continue to drive long-term, profitable growth.”
Wood will succeed Varun Bhatia, who left the San Francisco-based jeanswear and sportswear firm last year after two years in the post.
