Retail industry consultant Debbie Murtha has joined Laura Geller Beauty’s board of directors, effective immediately.
Murtha will bring her expertise in retail marketing, merchandising, brand building and strategic industry partnership development to the brand.
“The brand is experiencing significant growth in all channels, and has been on a path of evolution and expansion,” said Rich Gersten, a partner at Tengram Capital Partners, which acquired a stake in Laura Geller Beauty in 2012. “As growth and further expansion into wholesale distribution is part of the brand’s core growth strategy, having Debbie onboard will bring a tremendous knowledge base and expertise to the team.”
Murtha spent more than 10 years in the role of senior vice president and general merchandising manager of both Macy’s Merchandising Group and May Merchandising Co. While at Macy’s, she oversaw the nation’s top-grossing cosmetics and fragrance business, generating $3.5 billion annually, and forged successful partnerships and collaborations, including the creation of Macy’s first national television campaign.
