Tokyo-based Takasago International Corp., a leading fragrance supplier in the Asia-Pacific region, has acquired Wessel Fragrances Inc., an Englewood Cliffs, N.J.-based fragrance manufacturer.
Terms of the deal, which is expected to close next month, were not disclosed.
“The acquisition of Wessel further strengthens our position in the home care and beauty care fragrance business in the U.S. and reaffirms our commitment to global expansion,” stated Hiroki Take, president of Takasago Corp.
The Wessel buy is expected to bolster the creative and technological capacities of Takasago, which manufactures fragrances for the fine fragrance, beauty care, home care and air care markets worldwide.
“Takasago’s philosophy of providing improved products through technology is further complemented by the Wessel acquisition and will result in strengthening our abilities to serve our global clients,” stated Sean Traynor, president of Takasago International Corp. (USA).
